New Inverness Child Contact Centre Opens
Relationships Scotland – Family Mediation Highland has just opened their new Child Contact Centre in Inverness. Funded by The Big Lottery, this is the first of three centres which will be located in key locations throughout Highland.
Situated within walking distance of both the train and bus station, the Inverness based centre is staffed by a team of fully-trained family support professionals. This much needed service provides a safe, friendly, neutral and child-centred environment for children to meet with parents or wider family members they no longer live with. Relationships Scotland – Family Mediation Highland will provide supported hand-overs for contact which takes place outwith the centre, supported contact within the centre and video contacts. These services are provided free of charge. Attendance reports, supervised contact and associated reports can also be provided at a cost.
Service users can also access the support of a Children and Young Person’s Counsellor and a Family Support Worker if required. The service is now open for referrals from individuals, solicitors, social work, the courts or outside agencies.
